NNPC Posts ₦447bn Profit as Gas Production Surges
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced a significant rise in its revenue profile, hitting ₦5.08 trillion in October 2025, up from ₦4.27 trillion recorded in September.
The figures were contained in the company’s Monthly Report Summary for October 2025, which also showed a sharp increase in Profit After Tax (PAT) to ₦447 billion, almost double the ₦216 billion declared in the previous month.
According to the report, gas production rose to 6,997 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) in October, compared to 6,284 mmscf/d in September.
Gas sales, measured on an M-2 basis, equally surged to 4,713 mmscf/d, a major leap from 3,443 mmscf/d the month before.
However, crude oil production recorded a slight decline, slipping to 1.58 million barrels of oil per day (mmbopd) from 1.61 mmbopd in September.
NNPC Ltd said it has intensified work on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline, deploying additional resources to speed up progress across multiple construction points.
“Additional resources have been deployed, thereby fast-tracking construction activities across multiple fronts with a clear line of sight to mainline completion before the end of 2025,” the company stated.
The AKK pipeline is a critical component of Nigeria’s national gas expansion strategy, expected to boost domestic utilisation and unlock new industrial opportunities once completed.
The report also highlighted ongoing and upcoming maintenance activities across key oil and gas assets. NNPC disclosed plans to initiate and complete scheduled maintenance in Stardeep-Agbami, Esso-Erha, Renaissance-EA, and OML 42 within the November/December timeline.
It added that planned maintenance is ongoing in Usan and SEPNU, while delays persist in WAEP assets (OML 71 & 72). Recent flooding incidents also forced well shut-ins in OML 143.
According to the company, full production recovery is expected by mid-December, as collaborative industry-wide interventions continue.
